Barrel Knot
The Barrel knot makes an excellent stopper knot. When properly dressed and set it is unlikely to work loose, as can happen with the Figure of 8 knot. When tying, leave a tail of at least three times the diameter of the rope.
1 - Make a loop in the the rope 2 - Pass the working end around the back of the standing part of the rope
3 - Pass the working end up and around the front of the standing part. 4 - Then around the back again
5 - Pass the working end down through the two loops, parallel with the standing part 6 - Pull the working end to tighten the knot.
